Thermal Interface Units

A result of engineering excellence and years of in-depth knowledge of the heating industry, our range of Radiance Thermal Interface Units (TIUs), also known as Heat Interface Units (HIUs) are designed to be used as part of a community heating system (CHS) such as large apartment complexes with multiple dwellings. As an alternative to fitting boilers to each individual dwelling, a central boiler provides heating and hot water to the full complex. Heat interface units act as a bridge between the central boiler and the heating and hot water systems of each apartment. Although the heat is controlled from one centralised network, each individual occupant still has control over the temperature and individual metering and billing. One major advantage of HIU’s is that they provide central heating and hot water on demand without requiring a gas supply, therefore reducing energy consumption and maintenance costs.

In the past, multi-dwelling properties were most commonly fitted with individual heating systems. However, heat interface units provide a more efficient and eco-friendly way to heat dwellings and also help property developers to meet increasingly demanding new-build regulations in regards to renewable energy and energy efficiency. HIU units ensure the amount of energy or hot water is recorded by a meter which makes these units attractive for councils and owners operating large portfolios of properties.

As more and more attention is paid to lowering energy consumption and carbon emissions, the demand for heat interface units is growing in order to supply multi-occupancy buildings with a more efficient heat supply.

TIUs are highly efficient and eco-friendly. There is no requirement for a flue outlet resulting in an aesthetically pleasing exterior building design. Each unit is built in our state-of-the-art facilities in Evesham, to meet the exact specification requirements of the project. TIUs utilise components from our full range including TMVs, ball valves and strainers as well as our unique maintenance-free, long-life expansion vessels for enhanced durability.
